Bigger Font Crossword – Size 40 pt
Each book contains 50 crossword puzzles with everything printed in a 40 pt font, two and a half times the size of standard large print – the clues, the clue numbers and the solutions alike. At this size, the capital letters are about 9.4 mm tall – about three-eighths of an inch. Every puzzle is a spread: eleven plain-English clues on the left page, the grid on the right, with big squares to write in. Each clue number sits in its own arrow box beside the word it belongs to, so there are no tiny numbers to squint at, and every solution has a whole page of its own at the same size.
Not sure if 40 pt is the right size? Print the free size guide (opens Gumroad in a new tab) – it shows every size from 30 to 100 pt at its actual printed size, on regular home paper.

Common questions
What font size is this book printed in?
40 pt – two and a half times the size of standard large print. The clues, the numbers in the grid and the solutions are all the same 40 pt size.
How hard are the puzzles?
Easy. Every clue is a plain definition of a familiar, everyday word – no trivia, no wordplay and no cryptic clues. Each puzzle has eleven clues.
Why are the clue numbers in arrow boxes?
Ordinary crosswords print tiny numbers in the corner of the squares. Here each number sits in its own black box, at the full 40 pt size, pointing along the word it belongs to – across or down – so there is nothing small to read.
Are the solutions in large print too?
Yes. Every solution gets a whole page of its own, printed in the same 40 pt font as the puzzle.
Is this part of the Bigger Font word search series?
It’s the same family – the same 40 pt font and 8.5 × 11.7 inch page size as the Bigger Font Word Search – but a separate crossword series with its own volumes.
